Baby 1

This summer spending an hour in a room full of salt could be the answer to relief from Hayfever, Sinusitis, Rhinitis, Eczema, or any other airborne allergies. The treatment is suitable for anyone including pregnant women and babies over the age of 6 months. For parents with babies or pregnant women looking for a natural remedy this treatment may be for you. The treatment known as Halotherapy, involves sitting room where salt is pumped into the air by a halo generator. This machine grinds the salt into tiny particles which can reach the deepest parts of the lungs cleaning out the airways, reducing mucus, inflammation or irritation cause by allergies.

For pregnant women who may not be able to take anti-histamines the salt therapy eliminates airborne pollen particles from the airways. It also has a hyposensitizing effect, so it strengthens immunity and decreases allergic reaction to pollens and other allergens. It can reduce your dependancy on other medication for respiratory conditions also.

Children's and adult's needs are very different during Salt Therapy. While adults prefer a quiet environment with soothing music to relax, read or sleep, children are happy to watch cartoons and play with toys. Children are free to play and do not even realise that they are having a treatment.

At 'salt of the earth', supervision is always free; which means you can go into the children’s salt room with your little one, anytime he/she has a session. The treatment is all natural and 100% drug free.

Salt Pipe

Cisca Saltpipe® is a dry salt inhaler to help you to breathe easier, alleviate sneezing, coughing, shortness of breath and leaves you feeling revitalised. Salt crystals have been used for decades in the treatment of respiratory conditions and to help strengthen the immune system by cleansing the lungs allowing them to absorb more oxegen.

salt of the earth sells 3 Saltpipes,

  • The original salt pipe for adults
  • The elephant shaped “Elipipe” for children
  • A travel pipe for those on the go

The Saltpipe gives the sensation of taking a deep breath of fresh sea air or visiting salt caves. It works by drawing excess fluid from the sinuses and cell lining, cleansing the nasal passages and opening the airways to relieve the main cause of congestion and irritation. The salt has a thinning effect on mucus, helping you to clear it naturally and breathe more easily.

To use the Saltpipe you inhale through the mouthpiece and exhale through your nose. The pipe may feel salty to begin with, but this fades with more use. After using the Saltpipe regularly over time breathing becomes easier. The Saltpipe can also be used for sinusitis or rhinitis and can be inhaled through the nostril.

The Saltpipe can be used for 15 minutes daily and can last up to five years. No refills required. They are colour coded to differentiate from other family member’s Saltpipes. With various other copycats on the market the Cisca Saltpipe is the original patented pipe.

The Saltpipe can be used for respiratory problems including Asthma, Bronchitis, Allergies, Persistent Coughs, and Sinus Problems etc. The pipe has also been proven to help with general health and wellbeing. sea salt

We’ve all been told that too much table salt is bad for you, but have you heard of the benefits associated with natural sea salt. Regular table salt is completely different to nautral salts. It has been processed and contains added chemicals whereas Epsom salts, Himalayan salt, or Dead Sea salt can all be used in their natural state and major benefits are associated with them.

Many people choose to bathe in Epsom salts or Dead Sea Salt to extract of toxins, reduce stress, lower blood pressure and treat skin conditions including psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis. By soaking in a bath with these salts can help reduce any skin redness and irritation.

Himalayan salt can be also used as a detoxification method. It helps to improve the pH balance in the body, helps to firm bones, cleans the lungs and sinuses, helps with muscle cramps and cleans out the digestive tract.  By mixing water and salt and leaving it overnight you can reap the benefits every day by drinking one teaspoon with a glass of water. Squeeze some lemon into the drink for some added flavour. Here is a great video we found…

Here at salt of the earth we sell Himalayan Salt and Pure Dead Sea Salt for just €7.50. Visit our products page here

Asthma Day Blog

For one day only we are offering you a great deal. 20 TREATMENTS FOR €200!

The two leading conditions that clients are being treated for here at the clinic are asthma followed by sinusitis.

salt of the earth will celebrate this year’s World Asthma Day on Tuesday 7th of May in the Bryanstown Centre and will be offering an exclusive deal on the day for salt therapy.

This year’s Asthma Day theme is ‘you can control your asthma’. This has been the case for one young girl who attends the clinic. In previous years the severity of her asthma would have caused her to be hospitalised and her parents believe salt of the earth’s treatment has been the main factor in preventing this. Another client suffering with asthma and slight allergies revealed, after just five sessions, that they could breathe better and had no symptoms of allergies anymore.

Asthma is a serious illness in Ireland claiming more than one life per week. According to the Asthma Society of Ireland, many people are still very unaware that Ireland has the fourth highest incidence of asthma in the world with 470,000 people living with asthma. Here at salt of the earth we are very aware of how fatal a conditions such as asthma can be and how important it is to keep it under control. This therapy can complement a client’s treatment regime and increase the quality of life for those with irreversible illnesses.

Many people from Louth and Meath have come to our clinic and with a course of treatments have seen some great results.

It is suggested that some jobs including that of cleaners, hairdressers, plumbers, farmers, factory workers, fire-fighters and painters, all come with a higher risk of developing a respiratory problem.

Exposure to smoke, dust, gases, fumes, vapours, mists or sprays can all have a negative effect on the respiratory system.

Did you know the number one reason people visit their G.P’s in Ireland is as a result of respiratory conditions? Small changes in your life may make a big difference. More and more products are being made with an increase in awareness of their impact on the environment. With that in mind, eco-friendly products are becoming popular and on the plus side they can also be kind on the skin and respiratory system.

One such product is water based emulsion paints. These contain less toxic chemicals than oil-based paints and less VOC’s (volatile Organic Compounds) Which can be harmful to the environment and cause skin irritations. This paint has other benefits; it’s easy to apply, dries quicker and is relatively cheap as a little goes a long way. Using these environmentally friendly paints in your home can reduce the possibility of asthma, sinus pain, headaches and skin irritations, so we at salt of the earth are a fan.

green lungs

Another product that those of you with respiratory problems may want to consider is household products and hair dyes. You can make your own cleaning products with natural ingredients such as lemon, baking soda, corn starch and vinegar. Other eco-friendly, fume free, cleaners can be found at your local supermarket such as, Cif’s eco-friendly oven spray, ECover’s multisurface spray, Tesco’s fume free oven cleaner or fume free toilet cleaner, to name a few.

Hair dyes have even been developed which contain no ammonia and are friendly on hair itself and lungs. Ammonia is a chemical that is used in typical hair dyes and can cause irritation to the eyes and damage the lungs if the person is exposed to it regularly. It can cause particular problems for those who already suffer with breathing problems.

So remember small changes can make a big difference to the quality of life you have. If there is an alternative product just as effective as your usual one, you may want to consider the benefits it could have on you and your health!
