Salt Therapy for Children

Wednesday, 11 July 2012 10:04

Why not try the 'salt of the earth' natural method of healing before starting your children on long-term medication, where the hormone content of many drugs can cause serious and dangerous side-effects?

Nothing Artificial

Salt Therapy is a 100% natural, drug- free treatment.

Long-Term Health Improvements

As a result of Salt Therapy, inflammation and mast cell response within the bronchi reduces, so the quality and function of breathing improves.
This leads to the balancing of other bodily systems, due to increased oxygen availability.  Thanks to the desensitisation of the immune response, sleep patterns will improve and acute attacks and the need for medication will substantially decrease. This means the child will have more energy to play or exercise and become stronger and more resilient to every day infections.

Clinical Research

Clinical trials have shown that children react very quickly, effectively and intensively to natural healing methods.
The effectiveness of Salt Therapy is directly observable and highly recommended for all paediatric respiratory and skin conditions. Studies have shown that 85-95% of children became symptom-free, after only 3 therapy sessions. This effect is long-term. Parents noted that after 10-12 months there was still a significant improvement in their symptoms and regular medication had been reduced by 65-75%. The treatment definitely improved the children’s quality of life.

Please note that Salt Therapy is recommended from the age of 6 months.

Separate Salt Room for Children

Children's and adult's needs are very different during Salt Therapy. While adults prefer a quiet environment with soothing music to relax, read or sleep, children are happy to watch cartoons and play with toys.
To satisfy both needs 'salt of the earth' has 2 dedicated salt rooms; one for children, one for adults. The children's salt room has a TV, plenty of toys and a travel cot. Children are free to play and do not even realise that they are having a treatment.

Supervision is Free

At 'salt of the earth', supervision is always free; which means you can go into the children’s salt room with your little one, anytime he/she has a session.

Salt Therapy Background

Wednesday, 11 July 2012 09:52

This natural treatment was widely used by the ancient Greeks, who discovered that salt mines and salt caves had a therapeutic influence on respiratory problems. This medication free treatment method was invented in 1982 in Russia. Since then thousands of patients have been successfully treated in Russia, Germany, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Canada. Researchers and scientists studying the effects of natural salt therapy developed a unique machine to reproduce the microclimate of salt caves and to deliver the therapy in artificial conditions in a specially designed room.

The principle of this unique method was developed further by Allergy & Asthma Ltd and patented under the name Breeze Tronic Pro medical device.

The agent or active substance used in our artificial salt cave is ionised salt particles from natural sources. This ionised salt does not evaporate during the treatment, thus the air remains dry. The salt particles are extremely fine in this microclimate and the active agents within the salt do not irritate the respiratory tract, while reaching even the smallest alveoli in the lungs.

Hypertonic saline aerosol inhalation treatment or Salt Therapy is clinically proven:

  • Clear mucus from the airways thus restoring airflow
  • Enhance mucous clearance in both asthmatic and healthy subjects
  • Provide anti-inflammatory and bactericidal effects
  • Reduce bronchial hyper-responsiveness
  • Improve lung function
  • Help clear unwanted inhaled particles from lungs

Salt Therapy heals all major negative processes acting on the respiratory tract: swelling, inflammation, excessive mucous and bacterial infection. Salt is known for its bactericidal effect. Nowadays, salt is even used in swimming pools instead of chlorine to kill bacteria. Salt Therapy is also very effective in killing bacteria found in the mucous.

In most patients, after a course of Salt Therapy, airways become normal and symptoms subside.

Efficiency rate of Salt Therapy treatment

The clinical state of 85% of the patients with mild and moderate bronchial asthma, 75% with severe bronchial asthma, 98%- with chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis improved after Salt Therapy. The patients were examined 6 and 12 months after the first Salt Therapy course.

Here are some of the many benefits you could discover after Salt Therapy treatments:

  • Breath easier after just a few sessions
  • Alleviate sneezing, coughing, and shortness of breath
  • Decrease your dosage of prescription medications, or even stop taking medications altogether
  • Better handle triggers that provoke respiratory illnesses
  • Prolong remission times
  • Feel revitalized
  • Improve general health and quality of life
